Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer Judwaa 2 is all set to hit theatres this Friday i.e. September 29, 2017. It’s a sequel to the 1997 Judwaa, which stars Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha. The songs had to have that original touch and so some numbers from the original had to be recreated for the sequel.

Here’s the music review of Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu’s Judwaa 2:

Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12

Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12 – a reprised version of Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor’s Tan Tana Tan – will surely play with your emotions. You will be nostalgic and if you are a ’90s kid, you would agree to what I am saying. The song has been redone to have the new age tadka. At the first go, you might NOT be able to accept the new version of the song and land up not liking it. But trust me, Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12 will slowly and gradually grow on you and you wouldn’t be able to STOP yourself humming it and tapping your feet to it while sitting in office1 Sung by Dev Negi and Neha Kakkar, Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12 is a peppy track and has great recall value. The music has been composed by Anu Malik who has tried to also keep some of the original touch. If you are a music buff, you would love the fusion of guitar, drums and keyboard.

Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya

Hum bhakt tumhare jaaye kahan, Sankat mein hai dil meri sunle sada, Kuch samajh nahi aata mujhko, Ye mere sang kya horiya, Kuch karo kuch karo, Haan ji kuch karo, Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pareshan kare mujhe choriyan – would you ever imagine such a TWIST to a song which is about Ganpati Bappa? But, music composer duo Sajid-Wajid has chosen a little hatke track and added that punk factor to the song. Sung by Amit Mishra, Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya would surely be one of the tracks that Mumbaikars will be seen dancing to in the next Ganesh Chaturthi (they did this time, too). Coming to musical setting, the song has a bouquet of musical instruments – trumpet, saxophone, violin, clarinet, guitar, bass guitar and drums.

Oonchi Hai Building 2.0

Recreated songs are the ‘in’ thing and well, for a movie like Judwaa 2 – it was an important hack to keep that ORIGINAL touch. Oonchi Hai Building 2.0 has been sung by Anu Malik (also the original’s singer) and Neha Kakkar and you would love this modern vibe to it. The Punjabi touch to the song with the dhol beats has make it even more fun.
P.S.: This song has that feel of the old original track.

Aa Toh Sahi

Continuing the party theme, we have another peppy track in line – Aa Toh Sahi. It’s a high-voltage number sung by Meet Bros and Neha Kakkar. You would love the rap section by Roach Killa – O baby I just wanna tell you, If I ever got chance to love youTu dil mera lutt ke le gayi, Te akhaan naal sab kujh keh gayi. This is the most entertaining track in the whole jukebox. If you are a music enthusiast and have a knack of understanding it, you would love the electronic beats. Hats off!

Verdict: Songs like Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12, Suno Ganpati Bappa, Oonchi Hai Building and Aa Toh Sahi have surely created curiosity among fans. The album boasts of fast-paced numbers that are already chartbusters.

We give the music of Judwaa 2 a 70 out of 100 on the Pinkvilla meter.
