Ever since Sanjay Dutt, Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt were clicked together, several reports of Sadak 2 started making the rounds. The trio has been giving several hints about the sequel but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Earlier, when Sanjay was quizzed about it by a daily, he stated, “If ‘Sadak 2’ ever happens, I would love to do it.”

Recently, during an interaction with a leading daily’s weekly magazine, Pooja spoke at length about making Sadak 2. She stated, “It will not be a remake of the original and no, I am not in talks with Alia to reprise my role.

She added, “The story will start from where we left it. It is difficult to imagine Sadak without Maharani (played by the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar), but it would be incomplete without Sanjay Dutt.”

Moreover, she will also be directed the third instalment of her popular Jism franchise. Talking about the female lead in the film, Pooja said, “India has a fascination with older women as well. India loves its next-door bhabhis and aunties.”

She also went on to say, “Also, we need the character to have a certain maturity and life experience to pull off the deep dialogues.”

Moreover, Pooja will be making her acting comeback. Talking about the project, she said, “I am acting in a film based on Abheek Barua’s City of Death. It is a dark story that sifts through many layers of Kolkata. I play Rita Brown, a 46-year-old Anglo-Indian woman. This is going back to my own roots: my grandmother was Armenian Anglo-Indian and lived in Kolkata.”
